Many women struggle with menopause symptoms, from low mood, to lethargy, weight gain, hot flashes, insomnia to name but a few. But did you realise that exercise can really help?
Taking part in regular, appropriate exercise can bring huge benefits at this stage of life. However for some women the thought of exercise can appear daunting. Perhaps you haven’t exercised since you left school and have memories of not been chosen to be on the team or having to wear short games skirts on a freezing hockey pitch. Perhaps you used to exercise regularly but have got out of the habit because life just got in the way. Perhaps you have a long term health issue.

No problem. Our SITTER2FITTER programme is designed for people just like you.
Each week we will work with you to gradually build your confidence to exercise while walking. The programme includes, strength training, balance and aerobic exercise, all key to help you through your menopause journey. We will give you hints and tips of how to include exercise into your day.
8 group walking & exercise sessions with your instructor, Joanne, who knows exactly how you are feeling. (Read more about your instructor below)
(NB: all exercises are completed standing and are all related to improving your walking)
A private SITTER2FITTER Facebook Group where you can share your experiences with like minded people and get lots of hints and tips about how fitness walking can benefit you.
A walking programme to complete at home each week
Complete First 2 Sessions of SITTER2FITTER and receive access code for:

Nordic Walking is the ultimate in fitness walking and something we will be working towards during our SITTER2FITTER programme
The SITTER2FITTER programme is run over 8 sessions. (See Calendar for dates & times)
Each week you will be gradually increasing the distance you walk, starting at just 10 minutes. We will introduce you to using fitness poles for walking as well as some strength and balance exercises. By the last session you will be comfortably walking for 30 minutes.
You will be required to do some ‘homework’ between the sessions to ensure you get the most out of the programme.
Remember complete the first 2 sessions of SITTER2FITTER to receive access to Harley Street at Home paid programme for 1 month.

SITTER2FITTER for Menopause is led by our Instructor Joanne.
Coming late to fitness Joanne knows what it is like to have spent time looking after everyone else and neglecting her own fitness and wellbeing.
That all changed when she hit 50 and she took up running and long distance walking she has since has completed 4 marathons a triathlon an adventure race along with numerous other running, walking and cycling events, but she started off just like you.
Retiring at age 55 from a 40 year nursing career she trained as a Fitness & Nordic Walking instructor and loves helping people just like you to improve their fitness and wellbeing and achieve their goals.
